The Project:

The aim of the project is to restore NG15 class locomotive №134 to full working order for use on the Railway.

NG15 Locomotive №134 Restoration

The Railway has two NG15's, №s 133 & 134, and following an inspection of the two it was decided that the latter of these Locos was deemed to be in the better condition.  

Some work had already taken place in the past, mainly at times whilst either planning permission or funding was awaited to enable the railway reconstruction to continue. Once the railway was broadly complete, well at least the track was down between Caernarfon and Porthmadog, then the Society chose the restoration of this Loco as its next big project. With the Ffestiniog Railway Company's permission as owners of the Loco the project duly got underway towards the end of 2008 and so restoration work really started in earnest.
